Airport Safety Week

Airport Safety Week is on again this October, with a number of events for airport staff and stakeholders happening throughout the week.

Reporting Accidents or Hazards

All accidents, incidents or near misses that occur on the airport site are required to be reported to DIA. If you need to report a hazard, an accident or an aerodrome event please complete the following forms as appropriate and forward to the WHS adviser.

Minimum Airside PPE Policy

NTA considers the safety of staff and other airport users to be of paramount importance and to assist in the achievement of this has a mandatory minimum airside PPE policy.

Ladder Safety

Ladders are potentially dangerous pieces of equipment if they are not selected carefully to suit the task, if damaged or not used correctly. At NT Airports we are committed to providing a safe workplace and to this end we are very strict on ladder safety. If you are going to use a ladder at Darwin International or Alice Springs Airports you must ensure you have the right equipment for the task, and to assist you in this process please use the Ladder Selection Checklist or Ladder Safety presentation below.

Working on DIA Terminal Roof

Access to the terminal roof is restricted to approved personnel, who will be subject to DIA procedures. These include reporting to responsible person within DIA, completing risk assessments in some cases use of harnesses and lanyards. If you need to access the terminal roofplease refer to the interim procedures for instructions on each of the different roof areas.

Accessing Water Tower

Access to the water Tower is strictly restricted to contractors and staff who are authorised to do so and must be done by instructed personnel in accordance with the Tower Access procedures.
