Darwin International Airport (DIA) is currently seeking an experienced and professional Senior Administrative Coordinator who will provide efficient and effective admin support and management of security projects located at the Airport terminal building.

Reporting to the Head of Security you will manage the day to day activities at the Terminal Control Centre which administers the Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASIC) program and Temporary visitors’ passes for DIA and other issuing bodies within the NT.

You will also be responsible for coordinating several security databases including access control and key registers as well as liaising and being a point of contact with all stakeholders in relation with security related matters.  

Do you have?

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role which demand high levels of administrative skills.
    • Ability to work in a high pressure environment.
    • Excellent computer literacy, including use of Microsoft packages.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Good level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card and pass an Australian Federal Police background check

Security Contracts Coordinator

Reporting to the Head of Security, the primary purpose of the role is to provide oversight in the management of key security contracts including passenger screening and the provision of security technology, while maintaining an overall customer focus.  You will also be required to provide input into projects and initiatives that may be triggered to meet regulatory requirements.

Your exceptional organisational and planning skills will be called upon in this dynamic environment.  Your duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Manage and communicate efficiently with stakeholders, including security services provider.  This includes monthly KPI reviews.

  • Oversee contract deliverables including Key Performance Indicators

  • Assist with the development and implementation of Security and Operations procedures and requirements, including training

  • Assist with maintaining Access Control systems

  • Manage Security projects and initiatives

  • Provide administration assistance to the Security and Operations Departments

  • Provide accurate and timely reports to ensure security is provided in a customer focused and cost effective way

  • Expense tracking and accounting, including but not limited to purchase orders, capital expenditure and monthly invoice processing

  • Point of contact for Security and Operations enquiries

  • Monitor Stakeholder compliance in accordance with the Transport Security Program, SOP’s and regulatory requirements

To succeed in this role you will have previous experience managing contracts, including KPIs, within customer oriented industries.. You will require high level communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work unsupervised. You will be well organized, be competent in IT skills and be willing to learn new systems.

Head of Aviation Development

Northern Territory Airports (NT Airports) is a subsidiary of the Airport Development Group (ADG) who manages and operates the three Northern Territory Airports comprising Darwin International Airport, Alice Springs Airport and Tennant Creek Airport.

Reporting to the Chief Airport Officer the primary purpose of the position will be to market and raise the profile of the major Northern Territory airports that will increase NT Airports passenger traffic by:

  • Identifying new markets and airlines, and securing new and additional air services.

  • Developing new passenger and cargo services while maintaining the existing business base.

  • Producing high quality market analysis and research to enhance business cases.

  • Conducting high level industry and stakeholder visits and tours, and by

  • Building strong relationships with airlines, governments and other agencies.

Ideally you will have strong high level understanding of airline business, experience in negotiating airline pricing & incentive agreements and good knowledge of aeronautical pricing methodology.

To be successful you will have demonstrated excellence in leadership and people skills, high level understanding of airline and airport business, have a desire to succeed and have exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for all operational activities on airport as well as the preparation and implementation of strategic plans that will deliver NT Airports’ forward looking capital program.

Leading a large and diverse team, this role is critical to both the day to day operational requirements, security customer experience outcomes, as well as the planning of long term investment requirements around key aeronautical and non-aeronautical infrastructure.  A strong focus will also be on the asset management of aerodrome, project delivery and infrastructure at all three airports.

Reporting to the CEO the primary purpose of the position will be to provide invaluable strategic planning and financial outcomes in the areas of terminal related commercial, ground transport including car parking and aviation development.

Having recently completed a $75M expansion of terminal and apron facilities, as well as expanded car parking options, this role will focus on:

  • Elevating the customer experience outcomes of airport users to maximise revenues;

  • Introducing technologies (such as car park booking engines) that further grow ground transport revenues;

  • Identifying and growing new revenue streams in the airport commercial environment; and

  • Identifying new markets and airlines, and securing new and additional air services that increase NT Airports’ passenger traffic.

Ideally you will have strong skills in all areas however you may have a desire to broaden your skills to cover airport revenue generation and commercial management activities.

Communications and Media

NT Airports is seeking an enthusiastic Communications and Media professional who will provide advice and support for the typical corporate relations function to join its Management Team. This position is a 12 month maternity leave coverage.

In this position you will be responsible for external and internal communications, social media strategy and implementation, advertising, sponsorship, event management and participation on behalf of the executive management team on all media and communications.

Can you deliver on the following?

  • Maintain an annual communications plan for each of the airports.

  • Serve as a media spokesperson for the company and maintain strong media relationships.

  • Create a range of communications materials such as annual reports, speeches and presentations; coordinate with consultants to oversee the design of graphics and layouts for print, TV and media.

  • Implement and update the company’s social media policy and social and digital media strategy.

  • Provide excellent customer service by coordinating responses to citizen enquiries and complaints, managing requests from school and community groups and assisting people who make requests via social media.

  • Manage community engagement efforts and liaise with stakeholders, government and industry groups.

Do you have?

  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar role – that demanded self-motivation, service-orientation, marketing as well as high level administrative skills and computer literacy – MS office applications and graphics software.
  • A good understanding of the workings of social media and the benefits to business.
  • An understanding of the basics of good public relations practices and key issues facing NT Airports in the current climate.
  • First class spelling and grammatical skills and the ability to put complex messages into plain English.
  • Experience in project management and ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects at any given point in time.
